EPCM is an abbreviation for Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management. The special characteristic of the EPCM model is that it allows the owner to implement the project through self-management, maintaining full control during all stages of construction and retaining full visibility throughout.
In the EPCM model there is no strict contractual commitment to the initial studies of the project by the owner. Therefore, the model is particularly suitable for projects that are less well-defined, or for projects with anticipated changes that can lead to extracontractual work which, in the case of general contracting, can blow the budget of the project.
In EPCM, the owner can easily and inexpensively reconfigure specifications as the project is underway, while always maintaining full financial control through the Cost Control provided by VECTOR.
Significant cost saving and other benefits for the owner of the project are evident, including Value Engineering recommendations by the site engineers as the project progresses.
